Don't bother to go there for a Non O based on having a Thai child (not married or divorced) even for a 3 month single entry.

Went there with daughter and x wife ID card, tabien ban with my name on it, birth certificate, letter from x wife requesting visa O as I'm supporting financialy our daughter, showing more money than requested in the bank....No! child custody requested.

The girl at the window checking your documents is not an immigration officer and is not helpfull at all, I think she is payed to reject applications. I thought the rules have been changed for the Non O 1 year extension only, apparently not there!

Even the Thai officer at the border when I went back looked at my passport and after having a chat together, she does not understand why I didn't get a non O and advise me to check with Cheang Wattana.

So after having pay income taxes for more than 10 years, buying a house, having a child, being under social security program as I lost my job and receive compensation from them, I still a tourist!!!!!!

Concerning Savan Vegas service, you need them just for transportation and to pass the queue at the Thai consulate, period, Hotel room is ok, food is not, useless unless you like to loose your money in a big smoky casino.

Never again.

Are you the legal father of the child?

To have your name on birth certificate means noting.

Read this how to be the legal father of your child.

There has not been any change that I am aware of that would allow a multi entry non immigrant O visa issue - policy has always been single entry only unless marriage AFAIK. Perhaps that misunderstanding led to problems. Did you actually receive a tourist visa?

Hi PoorSucker, no this is not done yet, I will of course, but in the past they use to grant Non O 3 month, my daughter have my name as well.

Hi Lopburi3, yes they gave me a tourist double entry And yes It si what I requested a Non O 3 month single, but not to avail!

Did you try to get the 60 day extension to visit your child at immigration mentioned in your previous topic? You can use it to extend one of your tourist visa entries. The second would of course be best because you only have 90 days to use the 2nd entry.

Getting the court order is probably your best option. After getting the court order with a tourist visa entry you can apply for a change of visa status at immigration (tourist to non-o) and then extend for a year .

I have to go in a month, would like to hear if anyone else gets denied. I am married to mother of my my daughter, will this make a difference. I am currently on a non O multi I got from Savanakhet last year.

Marriage is different than parent. For marriage to a Thai a multi entry visa can normally be issued (with none to varying financial requirements) but for parent a single entry is normally all that can be obtained in the local area.

it was announced some time ago that the birth cerificate would not not be enough anymore to get a non-O visa.

But most in the region will issue you a single with note from mother confirming the relationship and you are staying togehter. I believe there was a positive report from Kuala Lumphur (single non-O).

confirmed by the Mr. Saeng from Savan Vegas, it is not possible to obtain a Multiple Entry Non O based on child support.

May be you did not clarify your situation with them before booking.

Savan Vegas has been very helpfull to a couple of people which we send to them.

I didn't ask for a multi entry, just a 3 month Non O single, rejected as they do not give it for supporting a child unless you have the child custody. Get a tourist double instead.
