i wish to install a solar powered pond pump for a relatively small pond with waterfall. A Mains pump and connection is not really practical.

Does anyone know where I can purchase one please? Any views, prices etc very welcome.

Thanks!

I've not seen a solar powered pump, but then never looked, but might suggest you try Soput (Suput?) Electrical shop, between Bouput and Maenam (has a large Philips sign on the roof...and concrete people at the entrance!!! ) left side of road coming from BP.....

(Closed Sunday's BTW in case you have an urge to head out today!!!! )

.... they probably have the best source of electrical stuff around... could be worth a try.... ?

How small is small ????

To lift water up, with any amount of reasonable flow, would need to be a reasonable sized pump and power supply.... if looking for just a trickle you might be OK??? smile.png

If the guys or girls on the floor don't understand what you are looking for, speak to one of the mangers in the office in the middle.... their English is good.... they may be able to source if they don't have!

On the ringroad, if your travelling from Fishermans Village towards Tesco, pass Samui town center and the Bangkok bank on your left and further up on your right there's a big sign says wood and a picture of a chair, along that block is a fish and pond shop, it's only small so it takes a bit of looking for. try them, I get my pumps there (not asked for solar).

Electric is so cheap why struggle to find a solar pump I have been looking for so long I gave up and purchased a pump at supot as another op has suggested it runs 24/7 and my electric bill went up about 120 bht per month

OP never gave any feed back, but doing a google search they are available in Thailand !!! I am sure Supot would source if someone gave a confirmed order... they have all kinds of internet resources and catalogues in the office.

I think he wanted to avoid laying pipe with cable underground wink.png

My hands are duly smacked!

thanks for all your responses

I took your advice SJ and all the other posters visited the various shops and really a solar pump was not going to shift 10k litres an hour and in any case would have to be ordered from abroad.

Yesterday (hence the lack of response) I managed to get a reasonable pump from Supot.for just under 2k Baht

I have had to give up my original quest to try and get away without a cable.
