No Haeb Deglee

Featured Replies

For anyone with the no haeb deglee blues I thought this might be useful : University of London distance learning.

The average cost for each bachelor's degree seems to be about 150'000 Baht, but being a distance learning degree you can earn while you learn and pay as you go.

Ending up with a degree certificate with University of London embossed on it would be a definite advantage in this part of the world at the very least. Some of those degrees are provided by Royal Holloway which has ranked in the top 10 and top 5 many times in the past 10 years as well as LSE which has a stellar global reputation. I don't know if you get degrees that say "Royal Holloway" / "London School of Economics and Social Sciences" or not but if you do that would be +++ for 'face'.

You never know, you might even learn something!

As for myself . . . I'm still thinking that I'll just brush up my written Thai and enrol as a freshman at Maha Sarakham University next year. I know that flies in the face of 'face' logic but MSU is the only place that offers a degree in ASEAN Language & Culture and learning to speak, read and write two other ASEAN languages as well as business Chinese, Korean or Japanese just seems far more interesting than any other option. I reckon the field trips and exchanges would be a real hoot too. And the uniforms . . . ooh, the uniforms.

Congratulations on 'taking the road less travelled"! That would be an interesting and potentially useful degree.
