I have moved my dish to be able to get vinasat 1 which works OK however I when I scan for channels I get a lot of channels that I am unable to view for example MGM does anyone know why that is?

Whether you know it, or not, you are probably using a sharing service, which has not been allowed to be openly discussed on this forum.

(And, on that service, MGM and Discovery will not open, although the other channels you mention will.)

Yes that is true it uses nagravision viaccess but so does the cartoon network, animal planet,MTV and many more and I can get them it is just a few channels that I can't (Can not get espn, TCM, mgm, discovery star sports star movies) but can get espn HD star movies HD it does not really matter it is just annoying and very odd

What to expect? High future probability Viaccess will be dropped.
