Does anyone remember the little railway engine that was in front of Chiang Mai Station?

It vanished suddenly over ten years ago. And no, David Copperfield wasn't in town at the time. The big one is still there but the little one is gone. Since then I have often wondered what became of it.

I had heard that it once ran on a narrow gauge track between Bangkok and Ayudhia.

Maybe some TV Members know what happened to it.

Sometime ago there was a news story about a full-sized SRT locomotive being seen in the gardens of a high-ranking army officer in Chon Buri.

Could a similar fate have befallen Chiang Mai's little engine?

Apropos of this story, I wish there was some old logging-line in the area, which could be restored & operated voluntarily by us expats, as a tourist-attraction ... I myself would be after the Big-Fat-Controller's job ! tongue.png
