Recent evidence is that Vasectomy may eventually reduce production of the key hormoneTestosterone, and contribute to onset of the Male Menopause. In a series of over 1,000 cases of Andropausal men seen at the e-medicine Andrology Clinic over the past ten years, 25% had had vasectomy, about twice the level in the general population.

Correllation does not necessarily equal causation.

And even if there is a causal relationship, this data does not tell what percentage of men with vasectomy subsequently develop that problem.

A thousand patients over ten years with were studied, and out of these one thousand patients we don't know how many had a vasectomy, only that is 25% more than the percentage of men have a vasectomy in general. These numbers are very small, too small for a serious study.

What is the percentage of the general population of men having a vasectomy? We don't know.

How many men do have menpopause symptoms? We don't know.

What is the source of these claims?

These figures as reported here are anectotal at best, and no cause/effect relationship has been established.

Just sensationalism?
