This is a true story; only the names have been changed to protect the innocent.

40 years ago in London, a work college’s rather naive and lacking in worldly experience wife was waiting for a bus to take her home. After waiting a considerable time for the no show bus the woman decided to walk the distance home.

As she preceded a few yards down the road a guy sitting in a parked car called her over. Thinking that the guy was probably lost and going to ask her for directions somewhere she approached the car on it`s passenger side. As she looked in through an open window the woman saw that the guy was completely naked and holding his privates in his hand. In panic and without noting the car’s registration number the woman ran directly to a nearby police station to report the incident. While giving the police a statement the woman became aware that the police were not taking her story seriously and in fact were finding it extremely difficult to hold back their laughter.

When the woman arrived home she told her husband all about the incident and that she felt very upset by the attitude of the police who seemed to treat the whole thing as a joke. So her husband went to the police station to inquire what they thought was so humorous about his wife’s frightening ordeal. The police sergeant took him into an office and explained the details to him, then he said; right at the end of the woman’s statement, when she was asked; did the man in the car have an erection? His wife replied; no, he had a Ford Cortina. On that note even her husband had a problem keeping a straight face.

They never did catch the pervert in the car, but I’ll always remember that case and still brings a chuckle to me, even today.

As mentioned by another one here, the thing is that as no one seems to care or do anything about these guys, they could get a free ride feeling and perform some much more serious crimes... Then, it will become another case to regret due to the lack of police action...
