Is there a DHL service in Lamai?

If not what are the alternatives and can I trust EMS as I have never used it before?

I am sending some very valuable items to Dubai so I need the best service there is, I have heard the regular post leaves a lot to be desired.

Thx

Be careful Uma with all shippers!

I had a nasty experience with UPS on the ringroad/Chaweng.

I had an envelope sent to me with 'freight-costs' to be paid upon arrival. Could not pay with creditcard so I sollected cash from teller, 50 meters away, and paid cash; got the papers and went off.

Later UPS send me a bill... :D

It was found out that the guy, handing me the envelope put the cash in his pocket and didn't have me sign the papers and I didn't notice.

It was settled but took a long time.

If you're about to send valuable items...be careful and double-check first on both ends (shipper/receiver); the moment they realize/know there are valuable things inside...the package might get 'lost'! :o

good luck

Ask to take out extra insurance when you send it, otherwise when it gets lost you only get the basic rate of claim. If it's a shipment you are really worried about then just closely track it and as soon as something odd happens, bombard them with emails. One package I had that seemed to be going off route was found on the wrong side of USA but with pestering and a phone call got back on track again. I find that UPS is better for the USA and DHL for UK. Over the last couple of years have sent probably around 100 parcels and documents and the only mishap was the one above.

If DHL are the prominent company in Dubai then send it with them.
