This never, ever happened to foreigners on the old days. I am amazed that Thailand is at all attractive as a place to live to anyone.

It's always happened to foreigners here. Gangland style murders such as this one have always been common and in no way uncharacteristic for any part of the country.

My earliest recollection of a similar assassination style shooting was of Michael Wansley back in the late 90's. He was the Aussie accountant investigating the Thai sugar mill debts.

RIP Stephen, another victim of the most dangerous destination for Britons.

RIP Does not matter the reason or why this man is dead !! Please show respect as I am sure his family will read this.

Thanks to you Katana and Mr. Drummond for providing the additional information.

This appears to have been the horror story of legend..........

I'm so sorry for this gentleman, what a tragic story it appears to be.

The spectrum of physical and mental spousal abuse encompasses both sexes as perpetrators.

“He earned the nickname ‘The Wounded Buffalo’ because he was forever being attacked by his wife or was suffering from some problem or other.

He was frequently involved in rows with his wife

“She often accused him of causing her to lose face and I saw her slap his face in public."

.

That's utterly utterly horrific.

I only hope they shot him in the temple first and didn't make him suffer.

How humans can act this way to other humans makes no sense to me.

I agree, stop speculating! The Clouseaus and Poirots that infest this forum get very tiresome very very quickly.

My condolences to his family.

They are not humans just low life animals who need treating as such and suffer a similar outcome as and when they carry out these all to familiar horrific, evil animalistic attacks on humanity.
