Is It Possible To Buy Several 500 Thb Happy Refill Card With A Some Discount?

Guess the discount is very small, as most mom and pop shops add an extra 5 Baht to make it worthwile.

I see official cars/staff from Dtac supplying the shops, not sure you can get the wholesale stacks at the Dtac shops you find in shopping malls. Probably only in their provincial head offices.

I think retailers used to get 500 baht scratch cards for something less than 500, maybe 1-2% off, while discounts on smaller denominated cards are zero, not sure on the rebates place like 7/11 get, I assume it is based on volume, exclusivity, performance, etc. Top-ups are moving away from scratch cards here, to reduce costs.

There are some affiliated SIMs, like the Tesco SIM, which offer additional benefits. Also the One-2-Call TEsco SIM gives 100 baht bonus for a 500 Baht top-up, so 20% discount (comparable).

Obviously theft is an issue here so some cards are sold at quite a discount. Sometimes they have been reported stolen and invalidated, other times they have expired but sold to unwitting customers. There have also been cases where insiders have topped up friends/family's SIMs, but these idiots added hundreds of thousands of baht credit and got caught immediately.

With judicious planning - promotion selection - one can save 30% but it takes a bit of work, and compromise.

Huh, btw, about promotions: just found a 2499 Sim promo, which is better, then Kong Pra Sim, but unlisted at English part of their Web site (anyway, you can see and choose it in promotion switching menu).

And if you top up on your birthday minimum 500THB, they give you 500THB extra, or they used to!

Presume Happy (DTAC)?

Think they offer free calls on your birthday now?

I can confirm the 100 baht bonus with Happy (DTAC) on a top-up of 800 baht. A 12.5% discount is better than a sharp stick in the eye. I honestly never noticed the 800 baht option on the BBL ATM menu before; I just always added 500 baht. Thanks for the tip. thumbsup.gif
