Where Can I Check Cholesterol And Blood Sugar ?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Where can I check cholesterol and blood sugar ?

I prefer government hospital ( which is probably cheaper than private hospital ) in central Bangkok

and how much is it ?

Many thanks

Any hospital or lab should be able to check. For sugar (FBS) you will want to not eat/drink prior to test so best to do early in morning.

Price last week at Vejthani Hospital for only actual test (moderate high price range).

FBS 150 baht

LDL 350 baht

Such tests are very common and you should have no trouble getting them done. Just a word of advice. If it's only blood tests you're after, then I would recommend going to smaller clinic as opposed

to a hospital as the prices are far cheaper. I get regular tests done at a small clinic in Chonburi. FBS costs 80 baht, and a lipid count is 120 baht with results back in 5 days.

In a hospital setting results should be back within the hour so might be worth the extra cost as only one trip required.

For anyone living in Pattaya, Pattaya Lab in Naklua does the tests cheaply and emails the results. Mostly you'll get the results back the same day depending on the tests.

FBS, Full lipid profile, Liver Function (8 markers) and Kidney function (3 markers) will cost 600. CBC an additional 100.
