Sister In Law, Skin Problem

Featured Replies

Has anyone any idea what the problem is? It is all over her body. She has been in hospital in Ranong twice. 2 visits to the King's Hospital in Bangkok. I thought it was either psoriasis or eczema. She has a lot of stress going on with an ex-husband and an adopted daughter. Although she won't admit it

If what you expect, the stress is the reason, try this:

Change the washing powder, and give her some dextrose pills (out of a Pharmacy bag, with '3 times daily 2 after meals').

Additional you can 'fake' some bach flower extract, and give it to her, too.

Placebos are a good try, in case no one can go to the bottom!

It does look like psoriasis, which is very common in Thailand,. But there is also a malignant skin condition that can look like this. She needs to see a specialist.

If she can get to Bkk, there is a dedicated psoriasis clinic Friday mornings at the Institute of Dermatology http://www.inderm.go.th/inderm_sai/inderm_eng/service_eng.html

Worth the trip. She won't get anywhere near the same level of care in Rayong. It is a government facility so treatment costs will be negligible. But need to be there first thing in the morning as croded.

She should also have an HIV test if there is an possibiility at all of exposure.
