Hi!

Do anyone have any experience ordering from apple[dot]co[dot]th?

I'm wondering because their website's Q&A section says they accept creditcard from "United States, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Philippines."

i do not have a Thai credit card, only a Norwegian one.

So has anyone ever used a creditcard from outside of these countries?

Cheers!

This credit card thing seems to be a localised problem. A couple of years ago I tried to book the fast train from Amsterdam to Paris with my Singapore CC from Singapore and fail after fail. Once I got to London and went to the local tourist authority I was told it wasn't the CC it was from where I was trying to book from. In London my Singapore CC was no problem. Go figure!

So my suggestion is go to a Thai Apple Store and order there. My guess is your CC will work. Assuming you are in Thailand of course.

Hope this helps smile.png

my wife uses my Debit card issues in Belize in the thai store ..

works fine. (not even the name matches)

but its true, some cards are not accepted, but this is based on the issuing bank as well.

if the store-country and the card-country matches everything should be fine (does not matter where you are on this planet)

The problem is that there are no official Applestores in Thailand, just resellers like iStudio and such, that have a much more limited stock, atleast in the ones i've enquired in.

and the price difference betwen apples norwegian online store and their thai one is significant.

If you order from the Thai apple store online it is shipped from Singapore not from within Thailand.

and if you telephone the official Apple Store number in Singapore the call is forwarded to a call centre based in Sydney. Apparently Apple changed their call centre from India to Australia after numerous complaints that people could not understand the Indians.

Yes, I ordered my I Pad from Apple online here in Pattaya using my UK credit card and it was delivered direct from the factory in China in three days!

Perhaps it's a case of letting your bank know in advance.... ?.

I use a Canadian Credit Card and inform my bank there, that I will be making a larger than usual purchase at a store I don't usually use here.

I just send them a message... a few days before... and no problem. That might be worth a try, assuming you can sign in and contact your bank in Norway, securely "online" ....

Once processed by Apple, the delivery is traceable and arrives within days..... providing you order early in the week, orders tend to sit over a week-end ! wink.png
