At what age does a bike need to have the document verifying that it is mechanically sound to renew the tax?

Is it 6 years from the date the new bike was first registered? The date being that in the Green Book!

Yes, I believe so. At least that's what the guys where I renewed my tax said.

It was 7 years for me. It is only money and a paper. I did not see anyone fail.
