Well the old Alcohol vs drugs tattle is a nonsense and is pretty much proven so.

With alcohol, the effect on the system is pretty much as standard insofar as it is a regular "hit" if you will.

The danger of uncontrolled narcotics is that the effect on the system is unknown until it is too late. Only an imbecile would argue that narcotics are 'safer' or 'less harmful' than alcohol.

Ask the parents of Leah Betts what they think on that score.

Tinfoilhat, instead of attacking me and my experiences, admit you are out of your depth here and move on.

I am not 'bullying' here. I am just more knowledgeable on the topic than you clearly are.

it would seem to be that my experiences that are being attacked here, the difference being that i am claiming they are only one set experiences and not definitive

i do not wish denigrate your experience but merely point out that it has left you unable to discuss the issue without letting emotion cloud your argument.

I have purposely not shared details of my experience, only some i the conclusions i have formed as a result of it and i have no need to get specific here.

As an aside, Ecstasy did not kill leah betts, it has been clearly shown it was the vast amount of water she consumed while on the drug that killed her.

to quote:

Leah had been at home with friends and had not been dancing, yet consumed about 7 litres (12 pints) of water in less than 90 minutes, resulting in water intoxication and hyponatremia, which in turn led to serious swelling of the brain, irreparably damaging it. However, SIADH caused by the MDMA, reducing her ability to urinate, may have exacerbated her hyponatremia. At the inquest it was stated by toxicologist Professor John Henry, who had previously warned the public of the danger of MDMA causing death by dehydration,[10] "If Leah had taken the drug alone she might well have survived. If she had drunk the amount of water alone she would have survived."[11]

It's insane to say that it was the water that caused the death not the drug.

But the Darwin effect is a positive thing, I think we should have more wild tigers walking the streets of our cities. . .

How many people can one tiger eat? A bubonic plague every 100 years would be more effective.

But not as much fun.

Tigers are mean

Tigers are fierce

Tigers have teeth

And claws that pierce.

Tigers are great

They can't be beat

If I was a tiger

That would be neat!

Tigers are nimble

And light on their toes

My REspect for tigers

Continually grows.

Tigers are perfect

The e-pit-o-me

Of good looks and grace

And quiet dignity!

Tigers are great

They're the toast of town

Life's always better

When a tiger's around!

a bit off topic, but a reminder non the less, to stress payak's idea--

a song that was used in the nazi resistance, we were taught it (part of a youth group in the states, obviously zionist/socialist at the time)

i suddenly remembered the first lines in german, so looked it up and here it is: thanx to wiki....

Die Gedanken sind frei

Thoughts are free, who can guess them?

They flee by like nocturnal shadows.

No man can know them, no hunter can shoot them

with powder and lead: Thoughts are free!

The song was important to certain anti-Nazi resistance movements in Germany.[4] In 1942, Sophie Scholl, a member of the White Rose resistance group, played the song on her flute outside the walls of Ulm prison, where her father Robert had been detained for calling the Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler a "scourge of God". Earlier, in 1935, the guards at the Lichtenburg concentration camp had ordered prisoners to stage a performance in celebration of Hitler's 46th birthday; the imprisoned Jewish lawyer Hans Litten recited Die Gedanken sind frei in response.[5]

but then i was in that group in the 1970's so that would be pete seeger et al influencing us also...

but i think the OP was talkng about laws, not freedoms.

myhusband complains alot about living here, no freedom (mai mee issalat), but what he means really is there are too many constictions on daily life due to religious intervention in the state... since he has the freedom to complain about it, the freedom to quit jobs, change jobs, go to court (drunk driving charge) and not just 'pay off' a cop, he can prove that he isnt guilty... he can buy pork, it is sold although difficult to get a hold of... he cant drive on shabbat although neigbhors would make faces....in other words there is a difference between freedom and law. which is what the OP was bemoaning about... other countries are lawless but there is no personal freedom to believe, pray, or act on personal preferences. but anyone can murder you, bribe or diregard your own personal space.

The point being as everyone else (rational) has been saying - laws work for us as well as against us, and an anarchic environment is not actually conducive to definitions of "freedom" at a higher level than "anyone can do whatever they feel like doing" including drive on after they've run you over with their shiny black Land Cruiser.

If the OP likes lawlessness he might want to pop over to Somalia for a while. They have real gold-plated lawlessness...

Or Middlesbrough, north of the railway. And I, sure there are many other places. I do hope the OP does not feel constrained regarding places he could go. Ideally, somewhere with no internet coverage...

Want a different holiday? Go on a Somali pirate cruise

For the gun nut who has done everything, join a cruise to sunny Somalia and see how many pirates you can take out.

The Somali cruise package that departs from Sawakin (in the Sudan) and docks at Bagamoya (in Tanzania).

The trip includes a master gunsmith and will have reloading parties every afternoon as well as optional marksmanship training.

The cruise lasts from 4-8 days and nights and costs a maximum of $3200 per person double occupancy (4 days). If you don't have your own high powered weapons you can hire them on the boat.

The cruise boat sails along the coast of Somalia waiting to get hijacked by pirates. Here are some of the costs and claims associated with the package.

*$800.00 US/per day double occupancy (4 day max billing)

*M-16 full auto rental $ 25.00/day ammo at 100 rounds of 5.56 armor piercing ammo at 15.95

*Ak-47 riffle @ No charge. ammo at 100 rounds of 7.62 com block ball ammo at 14.95

*Barrett M-107 .50 cal sniper riffle rental 55.00/day ammo at 25 rounds 50 cal armor piercing at 9.95

*Crew members can double as spotters for 30.00 per hour (spotting scope included).

*RPG’s at 75 bucks and 200 dollars for 3 standard loads

*“Everyone gets use of free complimentary night vision equipment and coffee and snacks on the top deck from 7pm-6am.”

*Most cruises offer a mini-bar and this cruise offers a MOUNTED MINIGUN AVAILABLE @ 450.00 per 30 seconds of sustained fire”

“We guarantee that you will experience at least two hijacking attempts by pirates or we will refund half your money back including gun rental charges and any unused ammo (mini-gun charges not included).

How can we guarantee you will experience a hijacking? We operate at 5 knots within 12 miles of the coast of Somalia. If an attempted Hijacking does not occur we will turn the boat around and cruise by at 4 knots. We will repeat this for up to 8 days making three passes a day along the entire length of Somalia.

At night the boat is fully lit and bottle rockets are shot off at intervals and loud disco music beamed shore side to attract attention. Cabin space is limited so respond quickly. Reserve your package before the end of May and get 100 rounds of free tracer ammo in the caliber of your choice.”

As if all that isn’t enough to whet your appetite, there were a few testimonials

*“I got three confirmed kills on my last trip. I’ll never hunt big game in Africa again. I felt like the Komandant in Schindlers list!”---- Lars, Hamburg, Germany

*“Six attacks in 4 days were more than I expected. I bagged three pirates and my 12yr old son sank two rowboats with the mini-gun. PIRATES 0 - PASSENGERS-32! Well worth the trip. Just make sure your spotter speaks English” - Ned, Salt Lake city, Utah USA

*“I haven’t had this much fun since flying choppers in NAM. Don’t worry about getting shot by pirates as they never even got close to the ship with those weapons they use and their squirrelly aim—reminds me of a drunken ‘juicer’ door gunner we picked up from the motor pool back in Nam”—“chopper’ Dan ----Toledo USA.

*“Like ducks in a barrel. This is must do! – Zeke, Minnahaw Springs, Kentucky, USA

I'll pass thanks, but if the menu is ala carte, I'll take one truckload of that 5.56 ammo at that price. :)

No offense and I'm sure my experience is mine alone. When I was in Cambodia last year I could easily have "adopted" any one of several pretty young (legal age) things by providing them only with room and board and the bare necessities of life. The poverty in some places is unbelievable.

So those places must be where all the child prostitution are going down. 18 and over for me, but its disgusting to see some dirty old cowboy drooling over some streetwalker dressed up as a little girl and carrying a teddy bear. The HUNTER S THOMPSON in me has some LOATHING in Cambodia to do and yes I do like to drive down the wrong side of the street with a joint filled with the best green is SE Asia, what can I say?

Lol, you're a peasent bragging online about your great conquest in having an even poorer (and probably uneducated) third world girl fall in love with you. Certainly, this is what freedom and the sweet taste of accomplishment is all about.

Peasent lol.

The only thing you presumably have going for you - your youth - is dwindling away until you wake up one day and find you're middle age without money and without skills. Let's see how romantic it is to get your clothes hand washed then.
