Roi Et, Cheap And Cheerful Hotel Wanted.

Recommended Posts

I googled and only found a choice of 3 but no doubt there are countless Motels/Hotels dotted around.

Prices on the above pinned thread seem way out of sync.

Good luck.

Yes , Ilive in Pon Sai about 85k from Roi Et .

Have friends who have used hotels there.

They like the Petcharat Hotel and the Mai Thai and the Saket Nakorn. Also the Rohmintanin. I've never stayed in any of them so you will have to make your own enquiries. I know for sure some of them have web sites and the Petcharat usually has a minibus picking up at Roi Et airport but things change so fast here it is probablly better to confirm it. Anyway I hope you enjoy your stay.

Rohmintanin = next to the White Elephant restaurant, hotel is ok, although a friend of mine didn't have the same to say about it lol. It's 550 per night, although they also often have some special rooms available for 450 per night (I don't really know the deal on this, just each time I ask they usually decrease the price, sometimes they say that those rooms are all sold out though). You'd probably want to have your own transportation if you go here though, as it's a bit far to walk to most places from here (And Tuktuks every time you want to go somewhere spike up the price a lot).

Petchanari Garden (Or something like that), is a nice hotel. I've only stayed there once, I think it was around 600 or 700 or something, maybe more I can't remember. Very nice, very clean. Very close to Rong Beer nigthclub/music hall too I think, and not too far from Mai Tai hotel/nightclub.

Mai Tai - I've never stayed here, so no idea on the rooms etc. There's a coyote bar/nightclub downstairs, and it's not too far from Rong Beer, the main nightclub/music hall

Hotel 99 - not clean, but cheap (250 Baht a night), so if you're young and don't mind roughing it, then it's ok. I think they may also have other rooms which are a little nicer, if you pay a little extra. It's right next to the lake in the centre of the city, so a really beautiful location, just a few doors down from pizza 101, which is a pizza restaurant a lot of farang frequent

(Oh and all of the above have air con, 99 doesn't have free wifi, I think Rohmintanin does, but I don't know about the other two).

Thanks for all the helpful and informative replies.

It will give me somewhere to stay when the Boss goes to visit her family. Also will give me a base to work from to look around the area for a few days.

If I like what I see I will even consider renting a house up there. I think it is about time for a change of scene :)

The Rohmintanin = next to the White Elephant restaurant, when I checked there they only had suites and wanted 1,000 baht per night. If you go left at the White Elephant rather than right, there is a hotel back from the road a bit, but you can see it. It is Blue and costs 400 baht a night. AC and not bad for the money. I stayed there 4 nights and never did find out the name.
