Another Online Payment Question

Featured Replies

Purely Hypothetical Question--------Let's say....

I'm a US citizen. I have a bank account in the USA.

I have a merchant account in the USA that deposits my online sales into my US bank account.

I sell certain product(s) made in Thailand online, then, after the sale is made, I go to the Thai merchant and physically acquire this product, and ship it back to the US (or any foreign) customer.

No I haven't done this yet, but it appears to be my only viable business option at this point, as I don't have $50,000 USD (2 million baht) lying around to capitalize a Thai business.

Also, How, oh HOW, would anybody (farang that is) ever be able to start an online business in Thailand unless they were going to slap down $50,000 USD to have a "juristic presence" and then they'd have to wait for a year to be able to get a Thai merchant account, to be legal.

I'm not looking for legal advice here, just some varied thoughts & opinions.

Thanks,

El D

First off, you don't need 2 million baht.

Secondly, make a profit after 3 years.

Third get registered.

Fourth (perhaps) get a work permit. (Not necessary, just not bad to have).

Hey ######,

Sorry for giving you a bit of sh&t in a recent thread. No hard feelings please?

I understand that you & a few other administrators of this board sink a lot of time into this site, and, having done the same myself in the past on other boards, I'd like to thank you for replying to my post.

I know we have Sunbelt Asia and Indo-Siam here.

Any pointers as to any others?

Chok Dee Khrap!

PS---If you ask 12 different Thai Policemen what the speed limit is on a 4 lane roadway (where they have speed limit signs conveniently

posted every 200 kilometers), you're guaranteed to get 12 different answers............

50 000 bucks are needed for Limited (private) company.

You can open a Patrnership company with 0 (zero) bath. The capital can be constitued by ideas, concepts, catalog of potential customers ....

First point.

But if you do that, will you be willing to pay fees (up to 50 000, depend where you will go) to do the work for you ?????? This is why mostly the agencies who organise the creation of the new companies speak only about the 50 000bht.

Be aware you can get a work permit, only if your company have the financial capacity to pay you, and do you think it will look serious if a company pay you 60 000 bht a month and don't have financial capital???????

The patrnership is designed for those who need to have a legal structure (you can have a tax number also) and don't have one buck/kopeck/roupia/baht to invest. But by experience, I must tell you you will not get a WP with this kind of society, at least not before 2 years and not before you have benefits (it's not a law but a reality).

On the other hand, you will be someone who have invest in LOS, so it will be normal if you take care of your investment (without working) it mean it will be legitime for you to come as often you can (every month?) in Thailand, just to see how your business is going. in thiscase, you can or (but it's a bad advice) ask for a monthly tourist on arrival visa, and do a visa run every month, or ask for a non-b visa (1 year).

But many people here are fully competent to help you for the visa matter
