Hi folks...

Has anyone recently compared these two new vehicles?

I'm looking for the superior vehicle in terms of comfort, reliability and features.

I'll be test driving in couple of weeks and my interest is in the 3.0 or 2.7L diesel Fortuner or the LTZ Trailblazer.

Have you thought about the Chevy Cruise? It's really the only vehicle in Thailand worth considering.

Surely, you mean the Chevy Curse.

I'm after a 4x4 as we plan to do a lot of remote exploring... Waterfalls, trails etc. Also the roads in our village aren't the best and its big enough to lug family and items around.

Any ex fortuner guys that are trying the trailblazer?

If you're in Bangkok, Chevy are doing this amazing Trailblazer promo at Seacon Square (Srinakarin road) in a large section of the car park. I don't know how long for, maybe today's the last day, but it's really impressive, maybe they'll do it elsewhere. There's a test-drive area and they have special ramps to demonstrate the Trailblazer's ability to tackle gradients and cambers . Chevy are making a big thing of the Trailblazer's comfort at highway speeds due to the 6-speed option and suspension but in truth the Fortuner's 3.0 engine is still the best. The ramp displays I saw demonstrate the benefits of having all round disc-brakes and hill descent assist on the Trailblazer vs the rear drums on the Fortuner, for example. Toyota will surely update the Fortuner soon to address these issues.

Get a Fortuna if you want to put the fear of God into motorbikes, years of experience and close shaves with death have taught them to keep clear.

I guess the Pajero is then your beast... It is the best choice available around for dirt tracks and hardcore offroading. I have been driving around Pranburi and the roads are potholed as hell around there. Plus there was a number of soft dirt tracks, which the 2WD handled quite efficiently.
