Burma’s national football team was knocked out of the AFF Suzuki Cup on Friday after it lost 2-0 to the Philippines. Philip Younghusband and Angel Guirado found the target in the second half. The result means the Philippines qualified for the semifinals with six points. Thai striker Kirati Keawsombut struck twice and led Thailand to a 3-1 win over Vietnam. Thailand top Group A with nine points and have now also qualified. On Saturday, Singapore take on Laos, while Malaysia meets Indonesia to decide the semifinal places from Group B. The semifinals will be played between Dec. 8-13. —AP
