If you do go to the Thailand BMTA website you will see on their homepage a large cartoon figure of a NGV bus going merrily along his way past various Thai icons.

In the journey it does stop along the way and pick up certain little colorful Thai (and western) characters and then eventually does reach a peaceful looking virtual bus stop....where happy cyber family and children will be cheerfully waving to you.

If you do investigate this bus a little Fuehrer further, you will also see a character sitting in the bus in brown uniform.

At first i did suspect this suspiciously like a certain crazy person who was a prominent figure in world history, and who did have a funny looking Charlie Chaplin moustache.

Maybe you can check for yourself and see if i am not paranoid.whistling.gif

What do you think?

You can watch the little cartoon man as he will then hold up his hand in a way that very much remind me of a salute some people did do around the times of the second world war.

I am not complaining or accusing anything or anyone understand.

If what i think is going on here be true then great that things are not so PC in Thailand like so many other countries...cannot make even a silent fhart in public without being arrestedw00t.gif

Just recently i did read a story of a Aussie guy who got prosecuted there, and they did fine him a huge sum of money because he did tell a joke about aboriginies while some aboriginal descent worker was in his office and overheard.

Anyway, for me i think very refreshing to see the Thai sense of humour is not so serious.

Maybe the Thai education system does not teach much world history or forget to teach that some people are sensitive about certain things in the past, as i remember also a few years back some Thai school children cause a stink for a demonstration and dress up like this same war figure...but hey, you canna have it all..rolleyes.gif

Heil Thailand i say and Bravo to BMTA Führer for providing a good service to everyone no matter their political or religious belief clap2.gif

Zoom in on the bus. Charlie Chaplin maybe. Look at the hat. I don't know what that is but Hitler is really a stretch. I think you may be very close to your posting name. http://www.bmta.co.th/en/index.php

You did not look at this long enough to see him raise left arm and a theatrical gesture goes from the mouth?

just talking on the phone?

I dont rememer Charlie Chaplin famous for doing this.

I didnt mean to be serious anyway

as for posting names ...and the subject of avatar... maybe you should look up the guy who in your avatar and also read about 33 degree freemason and what they are all about, might cheer you uprolleyes.gif

I really cannot see the Hitler connection. There is a chap in a brown coat wearing a brown hat and he does have a moustache, but I don't see him moving other than blinking.

To answer the OP, yes, you are paranoid.

EDIT The 'gesture' is very short, difficult to see if he's just scratiching his ear or answering his phone.

^

What is there to get?

Just scroll with your mouse over each passenger in the bus and they all start making gestures.

The boy in the back becomes two in fact.smile.png

Definitely could be a caricature of Hitler.

The hair style, moustache, facial expression, stern look in the eyes and whatever he appears to be wearing does seem to be some sort of uniform rather than casual clothing.

Compare this image with the images published from a news story of last February. Certainly extremely similar.

Whatever, this does seem to be in bad taste and many could find this offensive even if it`s meant to be in jest.

I think those 2 tech school kids in the back row are much more scarier than Hitler. Probably packing homemade guns and up to no good those two. :(

Something definitely wrong with that graphic though. The driver actual stops right next to the bus stop.

Each time an image or caricature of Hitler appears somewhere in Thailand, such as in schools, posters, tee-shirts, in ads and so on, the Thais claim it was all done in ignorance or as a joke and the intention was not to cause offence.

How much longer are they going to plead ignorance as they’re excuse for portraying Hitler and the Nazis in Thailand? Because whatever shape or form it comes in, is certainly not funny.

Throughout the passage of time, the horrors perpetrated by the Nazis have begun to slide out of living memory, and the younger generations have become unaware of the true significance of these Nazi symbols.

Some could regard this as history from a bygone age, but it`s more than that. These images represent a form of believes and ideology that does not belong in the civilised world.

I continue to see heroic paintings of Hitler in full swastika attire in copy painting shops in Pattaya. It's a THING for them. They are openly displayed in the FRONT of the shop to show off to the passing trade. Ignorance? I think not. There's a local market for that.

yes but where is the problem, you can also buy Stalin, Lenin, Mao pictures. In Vienna the government built a Che Guavara statue with tax payer money.....

Strange but no harm done.....

Just more excuses pulled out of the hat.

The Nazis were dead and buried in 1945 and should remain so. Let them rot in hell where they belong and never be resurrected in any shape or form.

Anyone who can justify Nazi theology, believes in brutality, mass murder, racism, tribal superiority, religious persecution, homophobia and is against democracy and probably has psychotic tendencies, because this is what Nazism stands for.

I suppose its easy to go off on a rant, but specifically what nazism stands for is national socialism; a doctrine which is not so rare in the world today, and rather than going off the deep end about smart black uniforms and blokes with moustaches, we would be better advised to look at where some of our nationalistic and theologically driven or racially driven or nationally driven demagogues are taking us; and the Nazis of Germany give us an opportunity to study the road ahead beyond the next bend and what we can see today

Sounds just like Stalinism to me.

I dare say at a stretch I could say the same about some religions.

You need to learn to look harder for humour

Yes,i suppose not much cause for humour. Sad if history really does repeat itself then our children could see even worse than what the Nazi did.

Some even believe that all 2 sides that did war against each other in history can be linked to the same team, played by the same puppet masters behind the scenes to get the result they want and then make a new change.

but i suppose that is 3am talk..and now only just past 1whistling.gif
