The white area of my eyes (conjunctiva) have a fairly high amount of liquid or softening underneath the skin layer, which has gotten worse in the last month or so as soon as I moved to where I am now (Vietnam). Now, in recent days I notice that the problem has moved to the layer of skin over and on top of the pupil area, which seems to be softening, and several times throughout the day I get temporarily blurry vision which I have to blink through a bunch of times. It comes back, however. I've tried googling about this but haven't gotten any exact information. Anyone have any suggestion on what could be the problem?

I have no idea, but I'd sure head to the nearest eye doctor for a checkup.

I note there seems to be several, do a Google for: saigon eye clinic

I don't know about the quality of care there in HCMV but if serious, I'd consider coming back to Bangkok and seeing the folks at the Rutnin Eye Hospital there on Soi Asoke.

I am not sure how you can see softening but are you sure your eyes are not getting dry? That will result in poor vision until you work new tears into it to make smooth again. I have severe dry eyes and find Vislube excellent tear replacement but do have an exam as soon as you can.

I cannot figure out from your description what is going on, but certainly you should consult an opthalmologist. Quality of care in the main cities of VN is good. If you are in Ho Chi Minh, go to "Cho Rai" hospital, it is a major government hospital which has a private wing.
