Featured Replies

i am in uk at minute, my wife is using my android ( samsung galaxy ) though there is no thai keyboard on it and her english is bad. i am going to pattaya next week and want to buy her a tablet, basically just to connect with her friends on facebook and watch thai movies on youtube.

what is the best cheapest tablet i can get her and where.

thanks in advance

Should be something available for about 4k.

But for 9k it's a Samsung

Also you can use every Pad, you can get, with another language

How about this app:

i need a tablet with thai keyboard, on my existing samsung galaxy tablet in uk can i downlaod a thai language app ?

thanks

What version of Android is running? As far as I can tell you can change the language in the settings and the Thai keyboard will be operational. I know my Asus tf700 and my wife's Ainol NOVO10 (Chinese brand) does, both running JB 4.1.1 but I'm sure ICS has that also. I just set her's up yesterday for Thai and the keyboard changed to Thai then found the option to switch between Thai and another language keyboard.

Checkout an app called Swiftkey (they also have ones for tablets) they have numerous language packs that you can download and enable at will. It is also a great app for writing quickly, hence Swiftkey.I have it for my phones and tablets and it has seriously increased my typing speed.

First, read through this long running topic on the Tech forum;

Lots of info on inexpensive tablets available in Thailand. To the best of my knowledge, any Android tablet running version 4.0 or later has a Thai language and text option in the "Language" section of the "settings" menu.

Be careful at Tuc-Com in Pattaya. Many of the inexpensive Android tablets sold there are falsely labled "Samsung" or "Apple" and could cause difficulty at customs when you return to your home country.

Learn to read the important specs such as RAM, onboard memory and display resolution. Expect to pay from B3000 for a 7" with decent spec's up to B8000 for a 10".

Gpad Explorer 10" 6990 baht approx with a case and keyboard for about 900 Baht. Runs latest android software. Comes with 8gb flash memory upgraded to 32 gb and 8gb internal memory.
