[Myanmar] India To Open Agricultural Research Center In Naypyidaw

India has started building an advanced center for agricultural research and education at the Yezin University of Agriculture in Naypyidaw, according to state media reports on Thursday. The university, which has 200 post-graduate students, will receive technical assistance and laboratory equipment from India, and Indian experts will provide training. In addition, India has also given Burma US $10 million worth of farming equipment, including 300 tractors, 150 threshers, 228 cultivators and 431 plows. India is Burma’s 13th largest investor, putting $273.5 million into the country as of July 2012.
