Jingthing Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 Inspired by the current news thread saying Thai kids don't want to grow up to be PM, here is some fun asking these questions of the esteemed membership at Thaivisa: 1. What did you want grow up to be as a young child? 2. What did you want grow up to be as an early teen? 3. What did you want to be when you reached your late teenage years? 4. As an adult: DID YOU do anything like 1-3? (reveal as little or as much as you want on this one, some people may want to be private about that) OK, I'll start: 1. Doctor or Lawyer. Engineer wasn't good enough. What can I say? Jewish Mother. 2. Actor. Stage Director. (Then learned I couldn't act, sing, or dance!) (Also vomited when dissecting a frog so doctor was out) 3. One of these: Playwright, Novelist, Investigative Journalist, Regular newspaper Journalist, Topical Satirical Columnist like Art Buchwald, Some major role behind the scenes in the television or film industry, Psychologist (embarrassing that), Pornographer (ha ha) 4. It was related to writing but BORING, that's all I'm going to say Comment: Should have been a lawyer! Mom knows best. Never wanted to be a cowboy, truck driver, fireman, football player, or president, etc.
heatherm Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 1. Indiana Jones or dolphin trainer 2. Astronaut. I scored off the charts for math in 5th grade, I took the SAT and scored high enough that I got a scholarship for Space Camp. Unfortunatly, that was the year the shuttle blew up and they cancelled the program that summer. 3. Set designer, prop maker, or animal wrangler. 4. I've been an animal trainer, set builder, prop maker, stunt person, and actress (a bad one). I still make movie props and costumes. Sent from my GT-P1010 using Thaivisa Connect App 1
Rob8891 Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 1. Chartered Accountant, like my uncle. He was rich....he earned £5k p.a. (long LONG time ago!!) 2. Can't remember... too busy enjoying life 3. Work in conservation, but definitely NOT a teacher. 4. School teacher (swore blind I'd NEVER do it again after 12 yrs in London), computer consultant, auxiliary firefighter.......and school teacher (even achieved Deputy Head Teacher). Now recently retired 1
