hello recently installed skype to my pc and found that it automaticly deinstalls my win live msn

i regulary have video chats with holland with people that do not have skype but msn and no way i can get audio and video working

i tried running it in compatibility mode xp makes it work sometimes

so now trew skype out reinstalled msn and looked for a older version of a skype set up

well that was a good idea now it all works till microsoft stops msn somewhere soon

for people wanting this set up file i put it on dropbox

I too have "upgraded" from MSN to Skype. If you have the latest Skype (v6?) then you can MSN to Skype and vice versa.

It is still in it's Beta stage so I guess when the flaws are ironed out things will be better - hopefully before the March "shutdown" of MSN.

I miss the email notification that's missing from Skype but apparently it's coming (when???)

For others reading this thread - be careful when upgrading as it does remove MSN and hence you lose it for good.

jep @michaelJohn that is why i put this previous exe from skype on dropbox cos the msn /skype integration does not work with that you can have both running again

you have to get rid of the remaining regfiles of your old msn that doesnt work , recommended for this is revo uninstaller free shareware
