    This is an experiment, I just did the same elsewhere.... this image was uploaded to 1600x on my picasa account, back in 2009,

    I am just wanting to see if it reduces in size

    and yes it does, it's reduced to 800 x... Tech guys have not said if they changed anything for the uploading and auto sizes of images, but if they have and can change to 1024.... I think we'd be happy campers!
