Southampton Will Now Go Down

Featured Replies

Most football fans liked Nigel Adkins as he came across as a good guy with good ideas. Must've had the latter coz he's the best no money manager the Uk has ever seen,

All football fans who respected him and what he did will now will the team back where he took it from.

Willpower will now be directed from Newcastle to Swansea to get this team relegated, as real fans show this is worse than what happened to Di Matteo at Chelsea and will them to go down The latter. they are going nowhere. too. But the boss says F the fans, What happens when the fans say f u 2

It's an insane decision that will bite them on the backside. They must really miss playing Portsmouth.

Not sure I liked him that much though. The last couple of times we played, they were diving a lot. I don't like that.

Yep, it is insane. What does the new man know about the Premiership? Wasn't even able to give his press conference in English. Madness. I guess a new manager coming in might get an extra 10% out of the players in the first few games, and perhaps pick up a few extra points, but after that, reckon things will go downhill.

A really stupid decision by the owners ,It just shows how little the owners know about football. Nigel Adkins will not be out of a job for long though.

Yes it was a bizarre decision by the board but nothing in my mind to suggest they will go down. A bad decision to sack Adkins doesn't make it a poor decision to employ Pottocini, or whatever his name is. He is by accounts highly rated.

I'm cynical when it comes to the 'professional' footballer. Yes they probably liked Adkins but as long as those huge salaries keep hitting their accounts they will keep playing and probably build a new liking for the new manager if he has the charisma and ability to do the job..

pochettino. was a bloody good player himself, played centre half for espanyol and PSG. you might remember him from the '98 world cup when michael owen threw himself over pochettino's leg to get england a penalty.

well michael owen is certainly a worm, yeah.

pretty sure he admitted it too. but then he's a bally honest englishman who was just making the most of fortunate circumstances, not a dirty cheating morally bankrupt johnny foreigner out to destroy the english game. ;)

What would any thread be without a bitter sniping anti-English comment or two from our resident fenian, woollyback kopite.

There ain't no koppites no more. The Pool, both town and club are both full of foriegners. If the fenians are moaning however, it's coz even the Welsh are better than their national side now. Irish and football, mutually exclusive. Martin O'Neil, I rest my case. Good at being self-righteous, shit as a coach. Qualifies him for Liverpool then.

Too bad Pardew has an 8 year contract eh? biggrin.png

it's a foreign disease. burn them all as witches. just enjoy pointing out the usual hypocrisy as and when it occurs friend rott. :)

I would agree that cheating is too much an accepted part of the game now, but diving somehow is a step too far.

Shirt-tugging for instance is sickening to watch but diving can also mean a red or a yellow for the innocent party.

But diving is hardly restricted to foriegners. Here's one for the koppites. Has Gerrard been teaching Suarez?

gerrard's rubbish at diving. he's never really got his head around how to do it properly. full marks for effort though.

Martin O'Neill is an excellent manager, he done well for us at Celtic, if only he had signed a decent goalkeeper we would have won the EUFA cup in Seville.

I think Southampton and there manager deserve a thread of there own at the moment.

Thought it was a crazy at the time to get rid of Atkins to but the new manager has absolutely taken them to a new level and deserves credit like you say.

24 goals conceded last year after the same amount of games.....3 this year. Superb!!

i think theres a simple answer to that; no they won't! That is unless he's of the same mould as Le Tiss and i doubt that!

Class young left back. Think they think he will end up as a left winger as well as he gets older.

Lallana is another great young player!

dejan lovren's been one of the signings of the season so far.

Another really good performance from The Saints yesterday. They really are exciting to watch when they are on the attack. Fulham were just blown away from the kickoff. Lallana is some player, and i hope young Ward Prowse gets an extended run in the side.

he's become a smashing player lallana. was a young prospect for ages but has grown into a quality senior pro. should perhaps be knocking on the door for an england world cup place if he keeps this form up all season long.

Southampton have to be the biggest surprise of the season thus far to me. Can't believe how few goals they are letting
