Is Everything Ethanol Now?

Featured Replies

My Lemon Gas here in Rawai (hit an miss quality-wise anyway) is all ethanol, even my backup spot PTT on Chaofa, where I thought I could get regular 91, doesn't have it, filled there with the 95 ethanol, 40kms less on my tank of fuel.

For pollution reasons(?), or overall cost of fuel(?), or what, but is all gas in Thailand now ethanol? Anybody out there getting regular fuel anywhere?

The bike spits and sputters on the end of the ethanol tank, can't believe good for the engine.

Have a read through this recent thread:

My understanding is an influential Thai family has invested heavily in ethanol and influencing policy for maximum profit.

Really ... how could that possibly happen. Oh wait, this is Thailand ...whistling.gif

Friend at breakfast just now said Shell has 95 "red" pump, real gas. I was under the impression they only had the ethanol too.

Sorry to post and then answer my own post, probably bad netiquette.......

As was posted in the metioned thread, PTT has real 95 and it's 46 baht/litre.

OMG! ohmy.png

Why don't they make diesel bikes?

Actually.......

great minds.......

How much? Never mind. 11,000 pounds, plus, plus! Although I'm sure the wife wouldn't allow it, nor would I at that price. According to her I drive way too fast on my old two stroke 110 cc with stock expansion chamber exhaust system...

The price is scandalous, but T.I.T!

That's the price in Britain, I do believe. Add a hugh import duty of 100% or more? And VAT?

48 next week? Strangely enough with the baht getting stronger, we SHOULD see prices on a downward trend, unless the price of crude goes up at a corresponding percentage of the baht's rise.

The Bangkok Post yesterday reported an increase (except diesel) in fuel costs, effective today.

Yes, I just brimmed up an hour ago. Price 47.16 baht. Chalong PTT, Kata not have.

O.k., so now confusing as I was surprised to see post saying PTT has regular fuel, but I could not see/find the pump when there last week.

LIK are you saying in your post PTT is now just pouring the ethanol?

I believe he is saying that the PTT Chalong has 95 octane benzine at 47.16 Baht a liter. But the PTT in Kata doesn't have it.
