Iphone 5 Using Ais Not Wifi

I just started using my first Iphone and after about 4 hours from topping up 200Bt the balance is nil

I guess I have been connected to the internet via AIS

However at the same time I was connected to my TOT wifi althogh not using it

How do I make sure I am not using AIS but the wifi

Any advice appreciated as maybe obvious I am not technically minded

You've logged in to the wifi from your iPhone? Settings -> Wi-Fi -> Wi-Fi ON -> Choose a Network -> and enter password

To make sure you aren't using the cell phone for data, Settings -> General -> Cellular -> Cellular Data OFF

Are you talking about a pre-paid (like AIS 1-2-call) or post-paid account?

If prepaid, and maybe jailbroken, the phone may be set up to enable Edge (internet) for using the GPS and other 'location' services and eating up your pre-paid balance.

To disable Edge (at least this used to work) *129*1# (to enable, its *129*2#)

Just make sure your cellular data is off.

General- Celular-Cellular Data.........on - off.
