Chinese Luxury Cars On My Walk

So doing the rancid marathon walk today (down 10 kilograms, 5 to go) and was surprised to see all these Range Rovers, BMWs, Mercs, Volkswagens and others (all left hand drive) with Chinese plates driving in a convoy, must have been 20 - 30 of them all told. Was thinking bet they won't get harrassed by the BiB. Obviously they can drive cross border, nice benefit for a holiday as don't have to hire transport.

Also saw the Riverside is being repainted, big expensive job, looks better, wonder how long till the Committee or Managers turn up in their new cars?

Then just to finish it off some wretched old crone on a motorbike stopped in the middle of the bridge so she could throw her plastic bag of some sort into the river, guess the thought of putting it in the other bag she had on the hook never occurred? OK, silly question.

Well, nothing actually exciting, just another day in Thailand. Posted as made me think of the Chinese tourist influx others have posted, so there's another angle.

I saw them driving toward Chiang Mai from Doi Saket today, about 20 or more cars with a Thai police escort leading them on the 118 Highway. Looked like they may have been coming from Chiang Rai and they all had magnetic Chinese signs on their doors and hoods/bonnets.

Oh and the 12 car convoy I saw today were driving down the Super taking up both lanes, no police escort but every Chinese car I've seen in convoy lately have their hazard lights on. Whats with that..ignorant sods!

Just saw a 12 car caravan of Chinese heading up the road towards Phrao. They all had funny cartoon-like magnetic signs on their doors and numbers on the windshields. No police escort though. There seems to be a very large amount of motorists in town from China now.

I saw a train of 20 cars with the magnetic signs but they were all from Malaysia.

Only one flashing red light escort car at front & I was surprised to see it was the Tourist Police.

Well I guess they are tourist so maybe not so surprising :)

I have deleted all off-topic posts and the replies to them, which leaves 8 out of a total of 55 posts. Anyway, a topic that has members post the numbers of cars with Chinese registration plates doesn't seem particularly interesting. Topic closed.
