Tourist -> Non-Im Visa B -> Tourist Via Laos Visa Run

Featured Replies

Hi everyone.

I am a peruvian national and entered Thailand on a 2-entry 90 day tourist visa which i applied for at the thai consulate in Peru before arriving.

I used my two entries, then found some work who organised a 3 -month non-immigrant visa b for me (visa run in singapore).

I have not finished work and am now planning a visa run to return on a tourist visa for about 6 weeks before heading to australia.

My question:

- I will be in Sukothai then catching the bus to udon thani and then through to vientiane - has anyone done the bus run sukothai - udon thani and is it pretty straight forward? Any approximate times?

- If i just enter Laos and return via land to udon thani will I only be granted 15 days tourist into thailand? I checked with the peruvian embassy here and they said any national will be given 90 days, but I have read conflicting statements saying that if you enter by land you will only ever get 15 days?

- the other option is to go and apply in vientianne for a tourist visa at the thai consulate. Is it correct this will take overnight? then i would like to return via land to udon thani and fly to bangkok.

thanks in advance for the advice!

By bi-lateral agreement you will receive a 90 day visa free entry regardless of where/how you arrive.

Thanks for this!

It is still a little unclear.. The double star note that applies to land crossings and being granted 15 days doesn't seem to apply for the column where Brazil, ROK and Peru are listed... I guess I will try a land crossing to save time and see how I go!

You will get a 90 day entry without a visa on any entry into Thailand. The 15 day only applies to visa exempt entry by the countries listed in that area.
