Garcinia Cambogia -- In My Experience, This Stuff Really Works

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

My ho hum boring update.

Still losing weight and waist size. So SLOWLY!

One kilo per month.

It does seem to be getting a little harder to lose ANY weight.

The stuff still works as always on cravings and portion control.

I really would be happier with two kilos a month but I'll take this!

I also still can only conclude that for whatever reason the addition of the green coffee extract in my case was indeed the culprit in stopping all weight loss.

Cheers.

Responding here to some obnoxious, relentless, and untrue personal attacks against me on other threads relating to GC.
I will answer these attacks here as they relate to GC:

1, The charge that GC is a "magic supplement" that allows you to eat more and get less fat.

FALSE!!!!!

As I have stated many many many times GC is NOT a magic supplement and there is no such thing.

With GC, you must control your portions, eat health promoting foods, and also move the body at least some, if you are to have hope of improving your weight control issue.

The thing is GC (for SOME people) acts as a great HELPER to reduce the CRAVING for unhealthy foods and also allows SOME people to feel a lot more satisfied with SMALLER PORTIONS of food in general.

That said, if you wish, you can probably still "pig out" on stuff like broccoli ... but in real life people don't actually do that.

Weirdly, for me personally, while my cravings for unhealthy foods are now super well controlled, the cravings that I DO have (which are not that strong, but are still there) tend to be for VEGETABLES! Yes, I know it's weird. If I don't get at least one large portion of green stuff daily it doesn't feel right ... and I try for more.

2. The charge that I am on a "QUEST" to find a magic solution to eat a lot and still get slimmer.

No. I am realistic. If you have been obese controlling your weight is a hard struggle FOR LIFE.

I have said that MANY MANY times.

Thank you for your attention in defending myself against vicious, obnoxious, and false personal attacks.

OK, here's a negative about Garcinia Cambogia.

FOOD WASTAGE for those who cook at home.

It really is a challenge to adjust food buying habits for a life where hunger and cravings are limited.

For example, today I had a "lunch meal" that BGC (Before Garcinia Cambogia) would have been a moderate meal ... but it was a bit more food than I usually eat for "lunch" these days.

Well ... for my third meal, just not hungry to eat a meal. Probably a snack because I don't think skipping meals is good as far as set points and backfiring.

So yet again ... bought too much food. Food wastage.

Also BGC eating because it was the time or because I had the food to cook ... that was normal.

After all this time, this is still feels kind of weird.

Happily this only happens every third or fourth day ... and I guess I could work harder to cut down the portion on the second meal even more with the idea of having another meal later ... but I am not perfect ... oh well.

Why waste the food? Buy a fridge and eat it on the next day. Problem fixed. Or put it in the deep freeze and 2 weeks later you eat 2 dishes which would be each too small.

Of course some things loose a lot quality when frozen, but other things can be.

Has also the advantage, if once you are too hungry, you have some small dish on hand....instead of starting to eat something big, or going out to eat.

I do my best. It's most about vegetables going off which of course I buy fresh and wouldn't freeze ... meat is easier to manage and I do freeze some. I was raised not to waste food which probably contributed to my weight issues. Clean your plate! No matter how much is on it and in the USA that's a lot. Children are starving in Europe!

It's not a big deal really ... just still a "problem" I never had before.

More food for thought in this link about "INTUITIVE EATING" of all things!

I think worth a read even if you're not interested in GC:

http://nymag.com/scienceofus/2014/05/non-diet-diet.html?mid=nymag_press

As evidence builds that conventional weight-loss methods simply don’t work in the long term, some nutritionists and psychologists are encouraging a kind of non-diet diet, in which you eat what you want when you want it. It’s called intuitive eating, or sometimes, mindful eating, and those who practice and preach this nutritional philosophy say your body instinctively knows what it needs. Your job is to shut up and learn to listen to it.

The whole thing seems a little hippie-dippy — until, that is, you learn that there’s some solid early evidence suggesting that the practice actually works to help people reach a healthy weight.

In relation to my use of GC, I am pretty amazed reading this article. That is because with the HELP of the GC, this is largely how I am eating now! Not as intentional "plan" in the slightest -- it's just how this has developed for me personally. I am certainly not on a diet of any kind ... as even before trying the GC I had completely given up on the idea that "diets" are any kind of long term solution for combating obesity.

I don't have hard rules like that type of food I can never eat. It's more like my HUNGER is so limited now that when I am really hungry my body craves very nutritious foods. My body knows chicken breast, broccoli, and olive oil feeds it well, but french fries, pizza, and ice cream do not! I sincerely and actually WANT those more nutritious foods naturally, it is not a masochistic punishment eating that and not the french fries.

Could I / would I be at this place without GC? I think not ... so I am skeptical about how this concept can really work for many people without such help ... but I do certainly agree, yet again, that standard "diets" certainly do NOT work long term for most people (which is well supported as well in the link).

But most food can put in the fridge and eat say 8 hours later.

Of course it differs....my wife and I cook a lot curries and soups: They can be reheated every couple of hours. Some get even better from it.

Of course some cooked vegetables really get the quality of pig food if fridge and reheated....

Potato or cucumber salad with olive oil get even better after a 12-24 hours in the fridge licklips.gif.pagespeed.ce.v-hsVd-Wpu.gif

Hey all,

If you want one that works I tried the following Garcinia: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JV0CJQS and it worked well for me. I was doing cardio every morning and dropped 7 pounds in my first week. It works best when you use it to optimize your workout results. You also have to take it about 60 minutes before meals. It will curb your appetite and prevent you from overeating. Also, you can't take it sporadically throughout the day and not work out. You will see minimal results if any. Hope this helps!thumbsup.gif

Nice.....but try to slow down on the weight loose...First week 7 pounds is OK, because you loose a lot water on the beginning but later I would go between 1 and 3 pounds per week...not more.

Else you loose a lot muscle.

I have lost at least 50 pounds over a course of over three years. It could easily be 60 pounds because at the heaviest I avoided scales completely so I only know a potential high point from a forced weigh in at a doctor's appointment. My waist size has now gone under what is considered medically high risk. My BMI stubbornly remains at a tiny bit obese ... had expected to enter BMI overweight by now (as in lighter than obese) ... but I think within a month or two that's very probable. I have tossed out my biggest clothes and now bought a bunch of cool new clothes. I hope in a year or so I will want to do that again ... with even smaller clothes.

As I have lost a significant percentage from starting body weight and kept that percentage off for well over a year, I have now entered a zone that obesity specialists would classify as a SUCCESS CASE. (Beat the odds on that one. Applauding myselfclap2.gif ). I know in popular culture, only Fantasy Island cases of going from Super Gross Blubber Man to Men's Health male model hard body on the beach really have any sizzle. But I don't live on Fantasy Island and probably neither do you.

On Garcinia Cambogia, I want to emphasize yet again: It is NOT magic!

For many, it helps you do the right thing ... for me it has helped A LOT ... but you still have to do the right thing ... or it definitely won't be effective.

The right thing as in the old fashioned stuff:

1. Portion control

2. Healthy food choices (a source of controversy always what that is exactly, but it's not always rocket science either ... yeah broccoli!)

3. Avoidance of unhealthy food choices (french fries are not your friend)

4. Less importantly but still important ... move that body ... no need to be a gym rat but do something

clap2.gif I'm OVERWEIGHT!!!!clap2.gif

(no longer obese)

Based on BMI.

This has been a major long term goal.

Just on the edge but into the overweight zone now.

Of course a few bites of rice would probably put me back up for now.

But it's a thing.

Thank you, Garcinia Cambogia.

Thank you.

To be a little more clear, I am only thanking GC for HELPING me.

I still have had to do the "work" by myself.

Eating smaller portions, most importantly making much better food type CHOICES, and continuing my moderate move my body program (which frankly is something I didn't change much, I was already doing that even before when I was gaining weight!).

I've been lucky in that GC has made doing that ... remarkably easier.

I read recently that 1 to 3 pounds loss per month is a realistic long term expectation of using GC and of course being able to make those changes, and that has been my experience.

Of course larger losses would be more common in the earlier stages, especially if starting very big.

For those that it helps. It really doesn't help everyone for whatever reason.

I think maybe not "fast enough" for some ... but with patience, it adds up.

If you ask me, do I think it would have been possible to get the success I've gotten so far, which at this point includes long term maintenance of a significant percentage of starting weight WITHOUT the help of GC, I would say no, not with any amount of "will power" I could possibly muster.

I know that statement will rub some people the wrong way, but in view, it's the truth.

Will power is overrated.

With many or more long term obese people, there are other biological factors at play that will almost always trump even the "strongest" of will power.

To be honest JT I think even obese people can loose weight. They might not get as lean as everyone else but they can loose weight.

Anyway 1 to 3 pounds really ads up over a year or multiple years but yes for many people its not fast enough. I like to go fast but even when I lost my 25 kg (2kg a monht) I had the feeling it did not go fast enough.

I gave Garcinia Cambogia to my mom as she stopped smoking and gained weight. But mom expects direct results (told her be patient). So now she is on a fad diet that helps her loose 5 lbs in 3 days. I keep telling her that is water weight because your not eating any carbs. But I could just as well talk to a wall... but they say... some people just don't have the patience and expect direct results.

I told her try it for a few months and try to eat better.. but if you break the good habits all the time you wont see results (plus she is 67). Asked me to give her strong stuff.. told her no try this because I am not going to give you anything that causes side effects your 67 and your health could be damaged.

She expects the pill to do all the work for her.. but it is as you say you did the work too.. eating better.. it was just a tool to support your effort.

I do think that many of the people who find GC or some other possible "helpers" don't work at all (most indeed probably don't help for anybody or are very toxic and dangerous) have magical expectations. My point is that this supplement has helped me make it MUCH EASIER to make the proper long term changes. Losing weight and keeping it off are entirely different things too, as is well known, the vast majority of people who lose weight gain it back and more, rather quickly. I don't think there are many supplements with the potential effectiveness of GC out there, so without sounding like Dr. Oz, I guess I still think people who have long term problems where nothing else has helped should consider looking into using it. Along of course with 100 other small behavioral changes they will still need to make for any realistic hope of long term success. Yes you need the frame of mind to want to be ready to change your life, sure, and have the maturity to not believe in magic, but I still think for the vast majority of people, in the long term, the frame of mind will simply prove to be NOT ENOUGH.

Hi jingthing,

Is this the same as white kidney bean extract sold on iHerb. That is used to slow down the absorbation of carbs during a meal. Taking it is about the same as GC, you need to take it about half an hour before a meal. Perhaps for people who cannot get the benifits of GC, they can try this. I am using this, not for weight control so much as carb control as I am a diabetic. Need to use this to control the intake of carbs which cause a spike in blood sugar.

For men i think garcinia does not work ...

Spam link edited out.

Please do not post spam like that on this thread.

On the question of sex differences with GC effectiveness, yes, I have read that it tends to be more effective in women. But I am not a woman and my testosterone levels are normal. So go figure.

Yes be careful what supplements you take, we are a Manufacturer of Garcinia and many other supplements and we are horrified by what you can buy from the Chinese. Try to buy from a GMP And Gov authorised Maker.

As for Garcinia we find it works better with a small amount of Senna in it (10mg per 250mg) also try to detox and cleanse your colon first, we make a pill with Turmeric, Senna, Aloe Vera, and black pepper. works really well. ;)
