i dropped it, batteries fell out, it worked fin for an hour and now its dead.

as there are no controls on the box itself, it is now a 4000 baht brick.

would be willing to try a universal remote, but cant find the codes anywhere VERY frustrated.

Tesco sells a universal remote control which has a 'code search' feature.

You enter a particular code into the remote (I think is was 9999) and then hold the on/off button down while pointing the remote at the appliance. Eventually, the appliance will turn on (or off) - could take up to 15 minutes.

One thing that I learned from experience, you have to pay attention to the appliance and take your finger off the on/off button on the remote IMMEDIATELY the appliance turns on (or off), otherwise the remote moves on to another code and you have to start all over again.

As always, try new batteries.

If it's still dead take it to Amorn service, they may be able to fix it or source a replacement.
