Car Services (Toyota)

Wifes had a basic 2.5 ltre Vigo manual ute (4x2) for 4 years now & we always take to Toyota for services every 10,000 km

This is where i have been trying to get a service manual in english but to no avail as most of the web sites for this are sh**te

Trying to get manual to see exactly what they do & when (fair idea but not know when majors are done in thailand )

Ok to the point now - its because wifey just told me it cost 4,700 bht for a 120,000 km service ( Im thinking expensive ) & she keeps all the detailed receipts

I do have my suspiscions they did me over on a aircon clean ( funny how he extracted the aircon filter from drivers side when it was an effort for me to get it from behind the glove box when i did it )

A general service i think cost us around 3000 bht with wheel alignment

So whats your thoughts on the service routine

Unlikely, in my view, that Toyota would "do you over" on a service, particularly for spare parts as there'd have to be far too many people involved and in my experience with every service center I've been to they always give you back the old parts that have been replaced and spare oil if engine oil has been replaced.

4,700 baht at 120,000 kms would seem reasonable as according to the service schedule this should include replacing engine oil, oil filter, differential gear oil, air filter, brake fluid and the air conditioning filter, plus the routine checks and cleaning. Timing belt's due at 150,000 kms.

A main agent will order a manual in English. They are available, I have one. smile.png

Stopped going to main dealer before the warranty ran out totally useless and also what is best not posted here.

you must have a good local dealer to have a manual, they wont get one for you in Sukhothai.

I still take mine to ( Cockpit or alike ) and half the price to do the messy oil changing service. biggrin.png

I also no problem getting manuals, from different Toyota main dealers.

You can get a manual in English around 5/600bt all the servicing data is in there.

Standard service 10th km oil filter's labour is no more than 1,400bt inc. Wheel alignment ??? very rare unless you hit curbs or the odd !!! hole.

Every 40,000Km is a big one usual service + brake's clean, gear box oil +++

May I suggest you go along when the next service is due and you will see what go's on you will also get to see the computerised bill even though it's mostly in Thai it'll still make sense oil/filter part's etc will be in English.

Air con service take's about an hour. They should have installed a machine passenger side that pump's a fluid through the whole system, gas check, then there will be a run up to make sure all is working ok + new filter cost is around 3,000bt.

If you compare it with place's like England it's peanut's just had one done on my mother's car 1200cc petrol £149 for standard service but they did put anti freeze in the washer thanks a bunch.

I get my Toyota Fortuner serviced every 5,000Km and not 10 yes I know that's well over the top but even at 5 the oil come out sh/tty but at a little over £30 it's as cheap as chip's.

Thanks all

So i guess all is above board & your right about giving parts back as the front wheel bearings went at 100k

OH & they even gave me my old tyres back

& as mentioned its not really about the money but just checking as thought was a tad high (but as we know as said before nothing like ENG or AUSS )
