Its because the school's budget is under the municipality.. And the mayor is very supportive with the school activities, including the hiring of foreign teachers..

such a bitter bunch.

it must suck to be out of favor.

It must suck even more to be paid half of what NES teachers receive.

The lone filipino teacher working on that school for more than 3years now.

First year : 14,300 due to agency

2nd year: 18,000

2nd year and 6th month: 23,000

3rd year - present: 26,000

Not bad, I guess.. :)

Jeeeez. People actually live on that amount?

Not many government schools pay NES teachers 52k per month do they?

But I suppose you teach at an international school.

Jeeeez. People actually live on that amount?

With free food, accomodation and nice treatment from parents, co-teachers upto the town's mayor, I guess he can live with that.. :)

And he did actually..

As a matter of fact, the nearby private school is offering him 30k to work for them.. But he refused..

So I'm pretty sure he can live with 26k.

Why not English English teachers. ?

Filipinas tend to actually work without complaining.

Filipinas tend to actually work without complaining.

Because their complains are mostly in Tagalog. Not too many speak that language...bah.gif

Tagalong........ Tag a long. Sounds like a game or a frame of mind.

No idea........I would never teach in a Thai government school

Bumpz!

One slot still available..

With starting salary of 18,000 baht.

This is only the beginning. First English teachers, then university teachers. Sure teachers from the Philippines have been here a while, but now it seems the Thai local governments seem to be more involved in requesting these teachers more than before. ASEAN: Isn't it wonderful?w00t.gif
