What's It All About Bedlam?

Featured Replies

So, as a newbie to Bedlam, can anyone explain what makes it so different to the other forums?

What can we talk about, what shouldn't we?

Okay, then. I'm all ears...

Oh, and Sawadii Khrap :o

Well a shortened version of the Bedlam story is this:

Bedlam is about Boon Mee (who appears to be a Neo Conservative) and Butterfly (who appears to be otherwise inclined).

They - supplemented by various hangers on - point fingers at each other and make silly remarks about, what they believe is, politics (in the old days we used to call this a pissing contest).

This, they do in as many different threads as possible, mostly started by themselves, but quite often they "politicise" other's threads. Some may call this high jacking, but, after all what do they know? They probably have other things going on inside their brains besides a love affair with George Bush or dreaming of his execution.

Occasionally someone will start a thread about something else.

But don't worry. They don't last very long

TM - Spot on - mini bear pit so to speak! :o

Also this forum is less moderated, so you can post about most things including non thai related topics as long as it doesnt breach forum rules.

But i believe still no talk about bars of ill repute and ladies of the night, am i correct? :o

As a newbie also, my first impressions are, dare I say it, boring? :o

Bedlam = 'Madness', from the name of a hospital in London (that's London England).

The hospital derived it's name from.... St. Mary of Bethlehem.

The <deleted> I know.

Yes, and you know it twice.

BTW '<deleted>' is a very Irish way of saying 'sh1t', do you have any Irish in you?

Well substitute Thomas Merton for Butterfly and you're spot on. The fun pics are in another forum.

I understand the Bear Pit has shut so it's denizens have made their way here.

The Bear-Pit is operating as per usual. :o

No I am happy to say I am not Irish.

And I think you'll find that the term "<deleted>" along with "Gobshite" existed in English 'English' as far back as the 14thC, or so my dictionary says.

However, I have often heard the term "Gobshite" used in an Irish context. :o

TM is just jealous because it used to be all about him and more of him when he was an active poster :D

But I am also guilty of engaging Boon Mee on meaningless political discussions, it serves no purpose, and it's just annoying even for me.

Thailand is such a boring place, that I need to post here for "fun" between 2 trades. I should definitely cut my time online.

Why would anyone want to retire here ?

I miss Europe :o

The Insect fluttered:

I would be careful if I was you.

The other ladies do not take too kindly to someone giving freebies.

That's the best post you've made in nearly 3 years :o
