Tropical Stormerr The Next Few Days In The 17 Provinces

Featured Replies

There are reports of threat of tropical storm the next few days in the 17 provinces in the north, northeast and east.

It is due to pressure from China, which meets low pressure areas over those parts of Thailand. Historically, these storms come in over limited areas. Yesterday was 2000 households in Chiang Rai damaged by such a storm.

The roof blew off houses, and people had to seek shelter from storms. Most households lost water and electricity, and some have been without it for over 24 hours. A similar situation arose in Nong Khai where 200 houses were affected and trees on a rubber plantation torn up by the root.

We are about 100ks from Nong Khai, it hit here about 9.30pm and went on for about 3 hours, lots of lightning but not much wind, the first real rain this year, i was very pleased, laid the dust, watered the garden, a blessing really as the local resovoirs are very low, i hope there is more to come soon, specially Songkram week, 1/2 days ok, but what a waste of water for 6 days,

Hang on to your knickers, It will be this way for the next 6 months..
