I'm curious to see what type of health insurance expatriates have, whether a local insurance or an international insurance.

It can get quite confusing sometimes when someone says that he has Bupa for example, but does not specify whether it is Bupa Thailand or Bupa International.

I even know some people who have both !

What do you guys have ? All comments are more than welcome !

Should have added one more choice....No Insurance smile.png

But glad to see your poll results as it could be interesting

Agree, if possible add the option, maybe add even 2 options, 1) no insurance, 2) accident insurance but no health insurance.

I'm curious about the results myself, and am glad you managed to sort out the inner workings of the polling option :)

Thanks, very good point. I updated the poll.

If you try to vote the 'Do not have health insurance' option, it is not accepted. You probably need a 'Does not apply' option to the other 2 questions to get it to work.

it works I think, I just tested it. Can you try again ?

No you need to vote in all three questions so if no insurance you can't really vote here.

Suggest to also add:

NOT APPLICABLE: Do not have a health insurance

To the last two questions. Then no insurance people can vote that way three times.

If you only vote in one question, you get:

Oops! Something went wrong!
[#10355]

You must cast your vote in each question of the poll.

I cannot edit the poll anymore. Should I start a new post with the poll again ?

Better to PM a mod and ask them to make the edits.

I asked the mod Sheryl to do the edit.

Great. Now you are no longer a multiple question poll virgin. You'll know better next time. coffee1.gif

Still waiting to hear from the mod. I wrote to Shyla, maybe you know another admin ?

I took out health insurance with AXA International - they are very professional outfit, but only at delaying payouts after a claim - don't touch them with a walking stick!

I was with BUPA International for 17 years during my working days as an expat. Changed to BUPA Thailand after I retired and settled in Thailand 10 years ago. Only ever claimed once in 27 years and that was 20 years ago. With hindsight it would have been cheaper to self-insure, if I had the will power to put the annual premium in a separate and secure account. As it is, I will continue with the annual premiums. One never knows when the health cover may be needed.

Yep a bit pointless Poll, if you tick the only option relevant in the 1st the others are not relevant yet you get

Agreed this is pointless as everyone’s circumstances are different

I already asked the moderator to modify the poll regarding this issue, but I'm still waiting for their reply.

You can now vote if you do not have a health insurance.
