A local businessman of Phuket, Preecha Kraitas, aged 48 was shot at while driving his vehicle and heading home with his wife and son on Tuesday night. The incident took place near Chalong circle when a gunman in a red vehicle overtook to come level with his car and fired 4 shots at him. This caused his car to smash into another minibus ahead of him and both went into the ditch. Mr. Preecha, who by that time was in critical condition, was rushed to Phuket International Hospital where he later died. His wife also suffered minor injuries from the shot in her arm.

Preecha Kraitas ran several businesses on the island including the Phuket Shooting Range, a souvenir shop, and property development. Phuket police are still investigating the killing motive.

".......and property development"

It seems to be a nasty business in Thailand !

He was the owner of Fisherman's Way Estate at Chalong (plus various other local interests) and always a very nice person as my past landlord. :o
