Fonda Shot Down

Btw, these are pretty old, did you copy/paste them into a file and keep them for posterity ? or did you google them and carefully went through each one of them before making a choice ? :D

Those were just a sampling of the milder ones you posted.

BTW, Phil only banned you after you threatened him with bodily harm - as been said, you were turffed for excessive trolling and personal insults. How you've made it thus far on TV is quite phenomenol... :o

The only reason I was banned is because I wanted him to. There was no point for me staying there under the new management and the only way for me to leave for sure was to ban me. I made sure he did after I called him publicly for what he was. No resentment. It was his board, his rules and I didn't want to be part of it after he hinted how he will destroy it, heu I mean, manage it.

You must have WANTED to be banned at every sight on the internet, because you pretty much have been! :o

The problem is that every time one sees that photo the resentment comes back and you see it a lot.

The apology is easy to not think about and not broadcast often.

I can understand that Vietnam Vets might feel some resentment. What was your unit in Vietnam ? :o

Only Vietnam Veterans are allowed to feel resentment, eh?

Why don't you allow only combat vets or vets that were in Vietnamese prisons as long as you are making up rules about who is allowed to feel what? :o

Oh I see your were feeling resentement on behalf of real Vietnam Vets. :o

Here we go here we go.

Any vet and any American can resent the actions of a traitor and I am both. :o

Porkie is a vet? :D

After Boon Mee and Spee, the picture is getting more and more frightening...

Are these the guys who were supposed to defend 'freedom' and 'democracy'? :D

Give me Communism and Islam anytime... :o

It's OK, I'm a vet as well (different army though).

So you see, you are surrounded. :o

No, if you read his post carefully you'll see he gives us a choice of two out of three options. Obviously he's not a Vietnam "Vet", so he must be an "American" and a "Traitor".

More like murderers and rapists, but again they worked in the backroom ordering toilet papers and the like for the GIs in action, so they were probably harmless.

Shows how well you can read little Miss Sausage Queen! :D

<deleted> Porkie' brain is working overtime tonight. At least it keeps him off the streets. :o

by a vet do you mean some one who has been a member of the armed services?

do you give the gay members or former members of the armed services the same respect?

can it be applied to auxilliaries also? NVA and ARVN members also ?

and why have not the australians been as outraged as the americans seem to be?

It's ok, I feel sympathy for the guys.

Imagine the resentment which builds up over the years when you're assigned to peel the potatoes and make sure the French Fries are done well over 20-30 years. :o:D

Btw, Kerry, my comment was in no way aimed at you! :D

A Veteran (Vet) is generally defined as:

a serviceman who has seen considerable active service;

a person who has served in the armed forces

(it is also used to describe people with considerable experience in other fields, such as a "veteran politician")

We (Canada) used to require service in a combat zone to be declared a vet. I among others was disappointed when the definition of what constituted a "vet" was broadened to include anyone who completed their terms of service, regardless of trade, postings or "combat" experience. :o

This meant that a clerk who spent 3-5 years manning a desk in Canada got the same respect as someone who served in a war zone and knew what it was like to be shot at. :D

In Canada, we recognize vets regardless of their sexual or national origin.

I imagine the Aussies aren't too concerned about Jane Fonda, as she is an American, and (back then) was protesting the American involvement in Vietnam, not the Australian involvement.

The only military service that Butterfly, zzap and the boys ever saw was being thrown out of boot-camp on a Section Eight! :o

:D:D:D

As you didn't address the issue then it's safe to say that you are not a vet as defined by Kerryd.

That wasn't my MOS, but sure it does. You really ought to learn to read! :D

I made sure I never got as far as "boot camp", another idiomatic yank term which describes it rather well.

I doubt Porkie has ever stood up for his 'principles', unless you count Bt 1.000 for services rendered in that category.

Yeah, having one's name featured on the bottom of the reserve list counts as being a "vet" as well. :D:o

I suspect the nearest he got to being a 'vet' was sniffing some Ketamine... :D

I made sure I never got as far as "boot camp"

That pretty much says it all about zzap and his buddies.

The rest is just the ravings of a few big mouth misfits who have never accomplished anything, sitting behind a computer, trolling in a cheap internet cafe. :o

Are you still sniffing Ketamine, or have you moved on to injecting? :o

I think I found the explanation for your failure to digest and address anything that's been said. :D

Of course, it could be pure 'trolling' as well, but we knew about that one already...

used to require service in a combat zone to be declared a vet.

I would counter that many servicemen/women who regularly participate in treacherous rescue operations and perform their duty bravely to be able to proudly consider themselves to have actively served .

This meant that a clerk who spent 3-5 years manning a desk in Canada got the same respect as someone who served in a war zone and knew what it was like to be shot at. :D

with the increased reporting of "friendly fire" ( as opposed to 'unfriendly fire' :D ) incidents , those catagories might not be mutually exclusive... :D:o

Jane might not have realised the Australians were there .. :D ... hollywood as a whole does not seem to realise . ( 'The odd angry shot' is the only movie that I know of about the Australian involvement in the Vietnam conflict ) But 'not being noticed' is probably a good trait for personnel in combat.

The yanks uphold the principles, [cough], policeman [cough] of the world [cough], anyone else at the scene is merely incidental...

Well, since Ulysses G's brave service followed after Vietnam, your question seems hardly relevant... :D

Hi, just got back. Been gone 24 hours. Did I miss anything? :D Did Boonie ever explain why his comrades in the Bear Pit have exclusive rights to levy insults? :o

Jeez, 3+ pages in less than 24 hours. :D

No doubt, but they weren't considered "veterans" in the military sense of the word. No suprise really that our Search & Rescue people have won more Medals of Bravery than the rest of the military combined (not including periods of war such as WWI/WWII/Korea).

??? We don't have too many "friendly fire" incidents in Canada. Those usually occur when we participate in operations with certain other countries :D

(maybe that was one of the reasons our government decided to not participate in the Iraq conflict ? Didn't want certain other countries mistaking Canadians for Iraqis ?) :D

Insults flow from both sides of the political spectrum...

Why else do you think it's called The Bearpit? :D
