Hi guys...my friend owns an old Thai style house in Khon Kaen she needs an affordable and reliable builder as she has to renovate this house especially the roof ....she has spoken to several builders but everybody want to build a new house.....she has not enough money to build a new house but she can afford some renovation.....,any suggestion? ....Thanks

Is it built with wooden pilings and everything? If you can find a local carpenter, then find a local police man, you just might get a rebuild. The policeman will have almost all the wood you will need to replace any that is rotten or damaged by ?. Works in my village, about 2 hours North of you. All the police and ex police here have stockpiles of wood that they almost never use. It is from the cost of cutting down a tree, to legally do it. The thai person must get permission to cut them down. The policeman gets half of the harvest for okaying the transaction.

Hi, I use a guy in my village who's a good builder. He's done all the work at our house, great quality, I'm a construction tradesman myself so have a good idea what's what. He was a supervisor from Bangkok but now works around Chumphae because of family. If your keen I can pm you his phone number.

Thanks guys....as i wrote the house is not mine... it' s old thai style ground floor concrete upper floor wood the roof is eternit i think.... i am not an expert but in my opinion she should remove the part build of wood and make a new roof .....maybe she has a different opinion i don't know as she usually change her mind quickly , i need to understand what she really wants...however thanks guys for your messages
