Let's hope Mr Bojangles can too ups.

Wouldn't want you having to take a Spanish holiday.

He'll only get a siesta for that kinda stuff. biggrin.png

Meanwhile there is a rumour we are signing a striker.....a strong rumour.....Baldini has been strolling around Valencia apparently....and chatting with their chairman.

This leaves me much more confident of a deal than were Daniel getting sunburnt. tongue.png

Excellent Smokie.

I've got to get my league predictions in by August 10 and I don't want you Spurs letting me down.

Obrigado. Jogo Bonito.

Arsenal preparing £40m Suarez bid

http://www.espn.co.uk/football/sport/story/223947.html

Chelsea ready to launch another Rooney bid

http://www.espn.co.uk/football/sport/story/223913.html

$40mil might come close to getting it done, eh ? The Liverpudlians ought to jump on that while there's still time to put it to use.coffee1.gif Or, maybe that time is over.

it's still not enough. unless arsenal or madrid come in with at least as much as cavani went for, £55m, then i would hope we will turn down offers and keep the player.

The scousers should snap Wengers hand off and bank it. I predict Suarez will be completely ineffective this year, he'll milk whatever wages he can and will eventually work his ticket home IMO. The biter is finished in the premiership.

Would anyone pay £40 mill + for Suarez, seriously I know I'm, how would you say, unbiased, but, come on.......?

redrus

he's probably about the third best player in the world behind messi and ronaldo. so he's worth considerably more than that.

he's finished in the premiership but he should move to arsenal? you sound confused.

and he's not the sort of player to just milk wages at all. far too driven and frankly mental anyway.

The best indication so far that Wenger is gunning for the title. Win it and sail off into the sunset...or PSG.

Have to agree with you MrEd. Bales a better player for a start. Atleast, everybody that i've listened to, read or spoken to. Plus you get to top drawer professional rather than a mental case.

For all that, i'd happily pay pay over 40m to have him in my team.

Just edited to say 55m with his baggage and his age, presuming he's 28 next birthday...if so you'll get nowhere near that. early forties tops and Liverpool might well sell because it makes financial sense at his age

I think Liverpool is holding out for the best offer. Biding their time. If they wait and don't get what they want, they still have a tremendous player...warts and all. Were it me though, I'd ship Suarez. Despite the talent, he's too often a major distraction, and I don't see where he regrets his behaviors. He sends out the obligatory apologies, but they don't ring true to me. Agent assisted fodder for the fans and media.

Yes, the "Release" clause has become a "Must let him know" clause, and the bid is now GBP40,000,0001

cheesy.gif

Arsenal stepped up their attempts to sign Luis Suarez on Tuesday evening by lodging an audacious bid of £40,000,001 for the Liverpool forward, according to the reports in Sun.

The extra quid triggers a clause in the Liverpool hitman’s contract meaning the Merseyside club must inform him of Arsenal’s offer, but Liverpool have turned it down.

The clause demands that Liverpool inform Suarez of any offer in excess of £40m and Arsenal’s bid will only complicate the talks scheduled for Wednesday in Melbourne between the unsettled striker and his Anfield employers.

In other news, Pigs can now fly.

don't think it's a particularly unreasonable call on past couple of seasons' form. suarez, cavani, bale, iniesta, van persie. next tier down from messi and ronaldo.
