I have a job in oil and gas. I think I am not paid enough.

Basically I want to do less work and earn more money.

Any one got any suggestions?

Ideas?

I think people have too much expectation. everyone should know it is really very very hard to make money these days. If you do other will jump in to compete with you

You think the business class seats are empty?

Only pursue income streams that incorporate scalability and leverage.

Only those two concepts will increase the amount you earn without increasing the time spent working.

Reasonably well-known body selling industry in Thailand. Think you can make a living that way?

Jusme - not sure the ladies will pay much for me,but can give it a go, always fancied myself as a gigolo. Does one require a website or should I just strut my stuff in a Borat type mankini?

But seriously

I read about this chap in the States who outsourced his work to China, and got multiple promotiions, I guess this is the way to go.

not all oil and gas is offshore, and it seems working for others is not the way to make millions. Also overtime and weekends does not fall under the umbrella of working less...........

I may set myself up as a life manager/coach, and charge people money for advice on financial freedom and how to work less earn more, however a quick google shows a lot of people already cover that market.....

Spend less for a few years, put your savings into a good investment. Then in a few years, you'll have a passive income and significantly more viable lifestyle choices available to you.

but then how can a personal failure succeed in teaching others how to make it better?

One bad (?) thing about the O&G business in Thailand for expats:

If you're not making enough money as an expat O&G employee, your prospects of making better money elsewhere in Thailand are somewhere between slim and "take your chances in the drug trade" none. Much as you may hate it, they got them golden shackles on you.

Not to say there isn't anything more lucrative, but most of us have conflict of interest clauses in our contracts that keep us from moonlighting in the hottest nuts and bolts industry on the planet right now, and the one where we know what the needs are.

Or you could try to be a Goldman Sachs trader, or start your own Ponzi Scheme (not mutually exclusive, BTW)???. I hear there's good money in those.

As a more practical alternative, head over to rigzone and see what other O&G jobs are available. You may, in fact, be underpaid for your skillset...

If you want more money for less work then you need to build a passive income, start a business, etc, not work for someone else. You may have to work more for less to begin with, but should end up working less for more. But no guarantees.

I can't see any reason an employer would pay you more for working less, unless your productivity vastly increases. Just think about it. If you were an emploer and one of your employees said he wanted to cut his hours and also get a pay rise, what would you say?

Seems a bit of a silly post though, maybe even a troll.
