Speeding-Up Google Earth

Featured Replies

Despite having a modern Mac with plenty of memory I get the spinning ball and terrible delays navigating around Google Earth. Rebooting helps for a short time. What preference settings can I change in Google Earth to speed things up? Thanks.

Under options check your cache and increase if needed. Is your network speed ok as that will effect the updating process.

Check what version you have. Google Earth updated me to version 7 without informing me, and I had terrible problems. I went to their website, and reloaded version 6.2. All the problems went away.

I increased the cache to the 1024 Mb maximum; it seems to have helped. My network speed is 20 Mbps. There is also a check box to prevent annoying panning by default on zooming-in.
