The wife is after a jade bangel so we wandered down to the market previously names Scott's but were completely at a loss as to reasonable price to pay. I don't mind paying $2-300 but where to shop in Yangon that offers a fixed and fair price?

Can't say I know much about Jade.

Perhaps contact the Myanmar Gems Enterprise - I think they are located on Kaba Aye Pagoda Road between Parami and 8 mile. (on the left as you head out towards the airport). Might be a good place to start and ask questions.

And I readily confess to knowing absolutely nothing about jade either which is why I was looking for a fixed price set up in the hope that I would get reasonable value. Thanks for the tip and I will give it a go Sunday morning before I head back home. If they are open I'll report back here to help the next person out.

Comparing prices there would be a start (as you probably have done already).
