PHP URLS to SEO Friendly URL's

I really have to learn PHP.....ughhh...I have someone that would like me to optimize their website but it requires changing all the URL's into something more friendly and targeted.

So a current URL looks something like:

needtolearnphp. com /index.php?cPath=56_369_8038_1083&osCsid=93ee093876501f7acaf76353cea072b14

and I need it to look more like:

needtolearnphp. com /how-to/learning-php/how-to-learn-php.html (or .php)

Any help appreciated.

the rewrite engine in htaccess would be the best method, if there are only a small number of url's you could make a simple rewrite rule for each one.

Don't forget 301 redirects to transfer the link juice.

actually just read your post again if the are 200 pages, a rule for each would be a bit of an overhead. It would be better done within the code, maybe with a fuction like this - http://iamseanmurphy.com/creating-seo-friendly-urls-in-php-with-url-slug/
