Can True internet services be obtained by satelite

Featured Replies

I live in the sticks and though have a TOT cable connection I am having all sorts of problems with very slow speeds where I can not load ANY web page or it takes up to 3 minutes to do so. Sometimes it is ok but over the last 6 weeks have had continuous problems (not just me but all in our village)and TOT do not seem to care and do nothing about it.

I have True TV by satelite can I also have an internet connection with the same system?

Anybody know?

Hi. we live about 6km from Ubon city and cannot get good TOT connection, We have tried all the other suppliers without any results .At the moment we are using TRUE " H" with Smartphone it isn't much good either, IF you find a solution please share it with us ,as there are plenty of us with connection problems . GOOD LUCK.

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately the internet services are pretty pooroutside the main towns.

I had CAT CDM via a rather largeariel stuck on the side of the house. Not particulaly good but it was better than nothing.

At the time CAT CDM changed over to a new system and I believe joined up with True, TOT put up a tower in our village.

At first it was fine but the last 6 weeks have been really bad, with very slow connections or not enough strength to open any web page.

After a lot more calls today I eventually got an answer which may be true or more B*llSh*T.

Aprrently they had to ask for apiece of equipment to come from Bangkok which they hoped would be delivered today and the technician will go out tomorrow to resolve the issue.

Not holding my breath as this is Thailand!!.

What I wouldsay is that the service from TOT is useless. You phone the call centre many times but t6he only answer you ger is 'we will senda report'. Nobody follws this up and the technician does not have to report back to the Call Centre to say the problem is been or being fixed.

Other laughable things I have been told are as follows; By the TOT centre where we go to pay the bill and told them of our problem was ' you are using the internet too much! Then one lady from the head office in Buriram says the problem was my computer even though she was told that others in the village have the same problem!!

It might be worth checking with CAT if their new system is available andwill work well in your area.

Have a look at this thread which may provide a solution as seems a similar problem.

Cheers

+1 on that, we're using the TOT WiNET service, it's working very well smile.pngEDIT 555, I see that's my thread on the subject smile.png

To answer the OP, yes there are satellite internet connections, search on 'ipstar' but they are generally held as being pretty carp and very expensive.
