Read somewhere..probably on Sticks column that there is a new pub on the way up near/around S33 called the Bull and Bush which sounds rather good.

Seems it will be from the same owners of the old "Dogs Bilhooks" which is now of course the Royal...whats its name ...argg was in there on Friday night...memorys going.

Long time ago (purely by co-incid) I used to live in Hampstead,N.London and for a long time my local gin joint was the original Bull and Bush...on the hill.. road to Golders Green....Florrie Ford and all that.

Then the place was full of French,German and Sweedish Au Pairs..and the in car was a Austin Healy 3000 sports....aw well

Nice to see British Pubs opening, even if it is in Thailand. I went on holiday to the UK last November and found that most of my old haunts had closed over the ressession, no cheap bed & breakfast and a pie & pint before going to bed, had to stay in 99 pound a night hotels in Gosport and London, have since found some cheaper hotels called Etap which are cheap and cheerful but nowhere near as good as the pub bed and breakfast.

Out in Enfield (North Smoke)you can still get some reasonable digs ...travelodge types sometime @ 20 quid a night and re gin Joints the local Spoons had a beer festival recently with pints of "real ale"at 1.85 .

My Heinekin has gone up to just over 2 quid a pint but can live with that.

One big boozer in town ...no name but sounds like "The Porge" flogs the stuff with specials @ 1-20 pint so there is still normal life out there.
