It all depends on the country of citizenship of the person applying for the visa and the visa type.

I know for my Thai wife to come to Australia even on a visitors visa was quite an ordeal with quite a deal of evidence to provide.

Whereas if my wife were a brittish citizen then i am sure it would be quite a different situation.

It all depends on individual circumstances.

If you can adequately meet the requirements, you will have success.

Tourist visas are relatively easy, spouse visa applications need to be strong.

Nothing is impossible. Get your friend to read through other post in this section for some good information.
