Just another quick one guys...

The cashiers check for the settlement visa. The website says to make it out to,

"British Embassy Bangkok".

My question, wrote out in Thai or English??

My fiancee has had it made out to "England Embassy" or something along them lines in THAI!!!!

Will the bank re-write it for her tomorrow? I bloody hope so :o

Okay panic over

The bank will change it for her, thank god.

I now still have the doubt of whether it should be wrote in Thai or English. I have never seen one of these cashier checks so I'm unsure. I presumed that it should be made out in English?? :o

My partner's successful application earlier this year had to be accompanied by a cashiers cheque and it was made out completely in Thai. No problems .

So thats one each for Thai and English, mmm....

From the British Embassy website

Applications must be accompanied by correct fee in the form of a cashier’s cheque only made payable to the “British Embassy Bangkok”. A bank must guarantee payment. We cannot accept personal cheques or cash. Please prepare before submit the application.

From reading that, it should be English. Would be nice if it stated clearly either way.

Anyone else?

OK guys and gals, IMHO you are lodging a cheque or some sort of payment to your sovereign government on sovereign soil, the language of your country should be the one on cheque.

:o
